An Open Letter to the Woman Who Is About to Give Up

You’ve never been weak. You are strong. You’ve never been one to give into fear. You’ve always faced it head on. You’ve never been one to give up. You’ve always found a way through.

And though it may not seem like it right now, you have people in your corner. Waiting for you to get back up and fight again. Anxiously waiting to see what you will do next. Waiting for you to win.

Life can be hard. Especially for strong women. You’ve always made sure no one ever saw you struggle; no one ever saw you cry; no one ever saw you in your weak moments. But I’m here to tell you…it’s okay. It’s okay to be scared. It’s okay to move forward without knowing what lies ahead.

Sometimes we become so fixated on what others see. Trying to be perfect and strong at all times. And spending so much time taking care of other people…that we end up losing ourselves in the process.

But whether you know it or not, we still see you. And you’re still making an impact. You’ve already changed the world. And you’re still doing it. You’ve shown other women how to be strong. Your love and support has shaped those around you and made a lasting impact on their lives. Your kids, your grandchildren, your co-workers, and yes…even your friends. And those people you’ve rallied around your whole life are now rallying around you.

They’re not ready to see you give up. They’re not ready to see your fire go out. And they don’t think you’re really ready either. So do what you would expect others to do. Keep fucking going. And we will be here to watch you win. It’s not your time. Not yet.
